Salary :
Rs . 5200/- to Rs . 20200/- + Grade pay Rs . 2000/- .
Education Qualification :
Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized University/Board with Two years work experience in respective trades .
OR
One year certificate course from Industrial Training Institute/Vocational Institute with at least one year experience in the trade .
OR
Two years Diploma from Industrial Training Institute in the trade or similar trade .
Age Limit :
Between 18 to 23 years as on 1st August 2013.
Selection Process :
At the very beginning of the recruitment process, candidates whose applications are found to be in order will be asked to go through the height bar and thereby , candidates with lesser height will get eliminated .
Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Those who qualify the height test will be subjected to five kilometers race to be completed within 24 minutes .
Original testimonials of the candidates will be checked thereafter and only eligible candidates will go to the next step .
Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidates who are found eligible on screening of testimonials will be screened first for height , chest and weight measurements .
Note : Physical Efficiency Tests and Physical Standard Test will only be qualifying in nature and it will not carry any marks.
Trade Test : Only qualifying in nature .
The candidates who qualify the PET will be put through the respective Trade Test . Each candidate will be allowed to appear for one trade only as entered in the application form .
Written Test: 100 marks .
The candidates who qualify in the PET's and Trade Test will be required to appear in a written test .
The Written Test for 100 marks containing 100 questions (qualifying marks 35% for GC & Ex-Servicemen and 33% for SC/ST/OBC) will consist of only OMR based objective type multiple choice questions to be answered using a black pen .
The question paper will be set to assess the
(i) general awareness / general knowledge .
(ii) knowledge of elementary mathematics .
(iii) analytically aptitude and ability to observe the distinguish patters .
(iv) basic knowledge of the candidates in English/Hindi .
The questions will be set both in Hindi and English . The papers can be answered either in Hindi or in English.
The duration of the Written Test will be 2 hours .
Application Fee :
Candidates have to pay the application fee in the form of Postal order or Demand Draft for Rs. 50/- in favor of Concerned IG / DIG / Commandant payable at bank of concerned Headquarter , under which their state falls , as mentioned in notification against each with Code No. SC / ST candidates and Ex - servicemen are exempted from the payment of the application fee .

Eligible candidates can send their applications in the prescribed proforma duly filled in affixed with attested passport size photograph , along with attested copies of education certificate , date of birth certificate , Indian Postal Order/Demand Draft , SC/ST and OBC certificates etc and one self addressed envelopes of size 23X10 cms duly affixed with postage stamp of Rs.5/- with full name and address by super scribing the top of the envelope with “Application for the Post of Constable (Tradesman) in BSF’ through post to concerned Headquarter , under which their state falls , on or before 30 days after publication of this advertisement in Employment News .
