University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued National Education Testing (NET) December 2013 exam notification Today. UGC scheduled to be conduct NET Dec 2013 exam on 29th December 2013 (Sunday).
ABOUT UGC NET EXAM : The exam to determining the eligible Indian Citizens for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Eligibility for Assistant Professor both in Indian universities and colleges. UGC will conduct NET exam in 79 subjects (including Santali new subject).
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION : 1) Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. are eligible for this Test. 55% marks (without rounding off) for General and OBC Category; at least 50% marks (without rounding off) for SC/ST/PWD category candidates.
2) Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing at the qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited OR candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this Test.
3) The Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September, 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%) for appearing in NET.
AGE LIMIT : Assistant Professor - No Age Limit; Junior Research Fellowship - Not more than 28 years as on 01.12.2013. A relaxation upto 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/ PWD/OBC .
APPLICATION FEE : General candidates, the examination fee is Rs.450/- for General; Rs.225/- for OBC; Rs.110/- for SC/ST/PWD Category Candidates. After applying online for NET, the computer will automatically generate your ‘Bank Challan’ indicating your details therein. A print out of this Bank Challan may be taken by the candidate for payment through cash, on the next working day at any branch of State Bank of India (SBI) alongwith bank charges (commission) of Rs.20/-.
